Will my iPhone 14 be damaged by charging it with a USB cord? Do I always have to charge it with the GaN wall charger morphie speedport?

Your iPhone is designed to be charged at peak efficiency via its Lightning port. To do so, you will require a USB-C to Lightning cable; a suitable cable should have been supplied in the box with your iPhone.

Charging your iPhone from your mophie SpeedPort Power Adapter is perfectly okay. Your iPhone will charge at it maximum supported rate.

Hello Modahani!

I’m not sure what is meant by a “USB cord.” If you’re referring to a cable like this, then no, your iPhone won’t be damaged, as it only draws what it needs.

And if it’s a 20W adapter, then the iPhone will fast-charge, which could overheat the battery, but luckily your iPhone puts a hold on charging at 50%, to allow your battery to cool down.
