Screen recordings suddenly taking a long time to save

I frequently screen recordings between 5 minutes and half-an-hour long. Normally, it takes about a minute to get the notification that a half-hour recording has been saved to my photos. But yesterday and today it's been taking anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour to get that notification, and for the recordings to show up.

I thought it might be a storage issue, but the largest video is ~4 GB, and I have ~140 GB of storage left.

I do not sync my photo library with iCloud.

So far, I've cleared my "recently deleted" folder and offloaded videos to conserve space. I've restarted the ipad a couple of times.

Any idea what I can try next?

If you haven't tried so already, could you check to see if you have any available OS updates? If so, installing them may help resolve an issue like this. Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If that doesn't do the trick or you're already up to date, could you try doing a short screen recording for a test and see if that also takes a long time to save?

Testing that can help narrow down what may be happening.
