iPhone 14 “Recent” photos are suddenly out of order

Why are my Recent photos suddenly out of order? Is it be because of the last update. I couldn’t find an important photo for work earlier that day. Now it’s too late to send. There are photos from 2012 after photos I took today in the Recents album. Please fix this glitch.

I can’t find an “All Photos” tab. Where is it supposed to be. This has never happened to my photos before and I’ve had iPhones since the beginning of iPhone time! I want everything I have in “Recent Photos.”

There is not much you can do, to rearrange the Recents album. When you want to find photos according to the date they have been taken, use the "All Photos" album. There the photos will always be sorted by the date they have been taken.

The order of photos in the Recents Album is not supposed to remain stable after a software update. Recents is showing the photos in the order they have been added to your library, and this order can change, when the library is rebuild. After a major software update or when the library has become damaged, Photos may need to rebuild the library, and this may change the date they have been added.

if you are now seeing photos from 2012 after recently added photos, your Photos Library has probably become damaged and Photos has recovered lost+found items from the library, that have no longer been linked to any thumbnails in your library. These recovered items are now the most recent photos. You may want to check them, if they are still needed, and delete them, if they are items that should have been deleted long ago, and the deletion did not succeed.
