vertical line(s) appearing on MacBook Pro 2020
Hello,
Since a couple of days i am having an issue with my macbook pro (2020,M1, 13 inch) retina display.
Without dropping or damaging the laptop at first one black line appeared on the left side of the screen.
A couple of hours later that thin black line got bigger and 2 other lines appeared. (one green and one purple -both thin lines) The lines are not visible when i take a screenshot. I also did the appel diagnostic hardware test with the power adaptor plugged in and with only the battery. When the laptop is connected to the power adaptor the test says that there is no problem. When i do the test without being plugged in, it says that i have an error code PPP001 (a problem with my power port) that is strange as it was not connected to the power…
The macbook is updated and running on the latest version of Ventura (13.4.1). It works fine except for those lines. Could it be possible that those lines appeared due to overheating? I was working on a deadline during a heatwave and it was +/- 30 degrees at my studio. I did not hear the fan of the laptop and it also did not get hot. The other possibility i could think off is that i cleaned the screen with a screen cleaner. with a damp towel. Could that be the reason. Since the 3 lines appeared 2 days ago, they did not multiply or change anymore. I asked for help at the apple service and had a chat and the advice was to upgrade the software. and then it would go away. I did this but the lines are still here. I took a photo of my screen with my iPhone to show how the problem. Please advice me what the best solution to this problem is. Thank you.
