I am unable to upload a new card to the Apple Wallet. I tried both, a debit card and a credit card. Error is "could not add card".

I’m sorry t learn you’re having a challenge adding a debit card to your Apple Wallet on your iPhone.
Are you in a country or region that support Apple Pay?
Countries and regions that support Apple Pay - Apple Support
Does your financial institution support Apple Pay?
I understand you may have been through one or more of the steps above, but I just need to confirm what is going on with your iPhone etc.
Thanks for your input Phil. That’s always a great link to share. I followed the link and the my screen shows different. Maybe the app is location sensitive. I’m seeing that the upcoming maintenance is restricted to American Express issues. I suspect with their gift cards being added to Apple Wallet. The resolved issue was early morning. I’m seeing this.

I'm guessing it's device specific. I'm using a Mac.
The list of issues, has been updated, it now only shows the last 2 for Wallet & Apple Pay.
It's a good link to have, specially with weird issues.
Apple Pay and Wallet have had a few issues recently, and are scheduled for maintenance.
You may just need to wait a couple of days and try again later.

I’m also facing same issue, it’s showing you have to contact card issuer . Can anyone help me regarding this problem
Have you contacted the card issuer? If so, what did they say?
Unable to add a card to Apple Pay. It is NOT a card issuer problem. I tried a Debit Card and a Credit card. Both came up with the error "Could not add Card". Please let me know how to proceed.
