Cannot make phone calls from MacBook Air M1 2020

I cannot make a call from using contact list on M1 MacBook Air 2020. I am on the same network as my iPhone, FaceTime is set up to use the iPhone and the iPhone is set to use the MacBook Air for calls. If I reboot MacBook Air I can make one call from contact list and then no more..what happens when I try to make the second call is the camera light lights up for about a second and then turns off. I am not trying to make a FaceTime call but after the reboot and the one call that is made it seems FaceTime is shutting the calls down.

Any thoughts to help me out???
