Move is not tracking on Apple Watch

Exercise is tracking but not Move. It abruptly stopped a week ago. Does anyone know why it would do that?

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I just updated my Withings app and my Watch stopped recording my move data. I deleted all the data on Health from the scales and my watch has started working again. Thanks for the advice Nilseg!

Hello meri147,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you.

Since you noticed that your Move activity hasn't been tracking as expected, have you tried restarting your Apple Watch and companion iPhone? If not, this is the best place to start as it can correct some issues experienced with devices.

Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Restart Apple Watch
* Turn off your Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until the sliders appear, tap the Power Button, then drag the Power Off slider to the right.

* Turn on your Apple Watch: Hold down the side button until the Apple logo appears.

The front of Apple Watch, with the Digital Crown shown at the top on the right side of the watch and the side button shown at the bottom right.

Note: You can’t restart your Apple Watch while it’s charging.

If that doesn't correct this issue, you can unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch and iPhone to see if that is helpful. The steps are provided in article, Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support.

Should you continue to experience this issue once that step has been completed, it would be best to connect with Apple Support for additional guidance. You can reach them at Get Support.

Best regards.

Hello I had the same issue and finally I found the root cause!

In my case I have a connected scale and a bad record was registered (my son’s weight exactly) so I think the algorithm of apple doesn’t work properly. I deleted the wrong data in health app directly and the move ring move properly now. So I recommend to check your health records maybe it’s also your issue.

Hope this helps someone.
