iPhone 14 Pro Max camera is turning on by itself

My 14 pro max is turning the camera on by itself. Always on display is off. It’s completely updated. Actually? After the latest update, 16.5.1, made it worse. Camera turns on while I was typing on safari search bar. My phone possessed or just riddles with issues? Too late to return?

You may try some of these steps, please chack after each step....

  1. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  2. If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This will not erase your data but will reset all personalized settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm the action. Note that you will need to reconfigure your settings afterward. All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.
    1. Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support:- Return iPhone settings to their defaults
    2. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content.
    3. If you want to save your settings, back up your iPhone before returning them to their defaults. For example, if you’re trying to solve a problem but returning settings to their defaults doesn’t help, you might want to restore your previous settings from a backup.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

I find when watching YouTube or using social media apps my camera opens sporadically. This is annoying while watching videos. All of a sudden the video skips, the screen rolls to the right, camera is open. I have to close the camera and restart playing whatever video content is playing. Already reset all settings, verified nothing was touching the screen to trigger it, removed and replaced screen protector with a different brand🤷‍♂️

This worked for me. It’s slow because the camera app keeps popping up, but keep trying. It helps to have a friend around with a IPhone so they can show you what button to aim for in the brief seconds you are not interrupted by the camera app. And also so you can refer to the these instructions or others.

Tell Siri to do a hard reset

Even if you think your phone is updated, check. Update if necessary.

Go to Settings>General>Transfer or Reset phone>Reset>Reset All Settings

It will ask you to confirm. (On that screen, it will assure you that you only be resetting your settings and not setting your phone to factory reset.)

Confirm.

If it doesn’t auto boot, reboot your phone.

When I rebooted the camera app was finally quiet.

(If you don’t know to do some of the instructions, for example the instruction reboot, just have a friend Google: reboot iPhone instructions and you will find the steps to do this.)

Good luck!
