Upgrade Amazon Music Unlimited to Amazon Family Plan

I want to upgrade my Amazon Music Unlimited plan to the Amazon Music Family Plan. The ONLY option available through iPhone is to cancel the subscription. There is NO "upgrade" option from Individual plan to Family plan. I've even cancelled my current individual subscription (through Subscriptions on my phone) and still see no option for upgrading or renewing with the family plan. Since I subscribed through my iOS, Amazon customer support keeps telling me I need to upgrade through "the Apple".

I had the same issue. In short, I had chatted with apple support who was able to force unsubscribe my individual plan. That takes 24-28 hours to cancel, then you are able to purchase the family plan via amazon.

Amazon Music Unlimited with payment through Apple has one tier only. Just individual.

To subscribe to the Unlimited Family Plan, you have to subscribe with Amazon directly, using your Amazon account.

If you canceled your subscription through your iPhone, there would be no subscription to upgrade. I would suggest that you go to Amazon's site and subscribe to whatever you want there. You should then be able to log in to that subscription through the Amazon Music app on your phone.

I tried upgrading before cancelling. There was no option to upgrade. So I cancelled, and tried to subscribe. All that is left is an option for me to renew the same plan I had previously. When I go to Amazon to purchase the subscription, they tell me I have an existing subscription (which I no longer have, I've waited a few days just to ensure). Amazon customer support then tells me to contact "the Apple". It's a circle of getting tossed from one company to another.

When canceling a subscription, you are actually just canceling the next renewal. So, check to see when the subscription actually expires. You may need to wait until then. If it was an annual subscription, you might try contacting Apple Support and seeing if they can cancel it early. Use the "Support" link at the bottom left of every page of these forums.
