MacBook Pro M1 wont boot up in safe mode
I have tried everything suggested File Vault off, reset SMP when selecting safe mode( Holding down shift key) and then entering password Mac just boots up normally. Ventura 13.4 is ***** nothing but problems.

"So, once booted in to Safe Mode. . ."
What if you can't get to this stage in the process? I have attempted several times to "boot up in safe mode" but it doesn't happen! Can somebody at Apple please answer this question? THanks!

You have thread jacked 2 threads (this one and Why would I use these risky Safe Mode pro… - Apple Community) by jumping in to state your issue and ask for help. You say you have a problem but never provide any details. I suggest you start your own thread and provide some issue details and context. By starting your own thread your issue will be the center of focus and all responses will be specific to your issue.
I am having the same problem. Holding shift key does not work and no option for safe mode is provided after holding power down until boot options appear, selecting the drive holding down the shift key and pressing continue....the macbook M1 boots normally. :(

Boot in Safe Mode:
In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install. For instructions, go here: How to Use Safe Mode on your Mac - Apple Support
How are you attempting to enter Safe mode?
I followed the instructions given for M1 and after numerous attempts it would always boot up in normal mode. What am I doing wrong?
