how can i find my lost admin account? i have been trying out different ways to get it back, but ever since i named another account the same name, it had become a standard account. how do i fix this? someone please help. i cannot download apps, or get rid of them etc.

Changing user names is a very risky business. Even Apple warns about that. Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support
"Doing this incorrectly could damage your account and prevent you from logging in with that account." is how Apple puts it.

You can try using the information in this article written by a respected forum contributor to trick macOS into thinking you have a fresh install of macOS so that Setup Assistant runs again which will guide you through setting up the Mac again. It won't touch any existing accounts or data.

Where it's "gone" is not relevant at this point. Can you sign in as an admin user? Either you can or you can't. Once signed in as any user, open Users and Groups in System Settings,look at the user names and note if any are admin.
If you don't see an admin user, you don't have one. And that situation is a whole 'nother thing.
