Mac mini & LG ultrafine speaker

I can’t change the volume on my keyboard when I set the output to the monitor using my Mac mini. The speakers on Mac mini are weak and I want to use the better LG speakers. How can I control this on my keyboard? I have a Mac mini with an M2 chip. Thanks!

I cannot control volume from my keyboard. Is anyone else having this issue? Once I connect my Air to an external monitor and close it, I cannot control sound volume from my keyboard. I am using the latest OS, Ventura 13.0.1 on a MacBook Air M2. Not happy with my choice to update from my 27" iMac now.

I can't control volume from my keyboard with an LG monitor I just purchased a Mac Studio with an LG 38WK95C-W monitor. The reason I purchased this monitor was because I thought it worked well with Apple computers. I get no volume control or brightness either. I tried monitorcontrol app but it doesn't seem to work. There is no volume tab in the preferences. The monitor is plugged in with the thunderbolt connection. I thought they worked with LG? Can someone please help me with a solution so I don't have to return my monitor. Though there isn't another solution, is there? I don't want an Apple monitor, so I'm basically handcuffed to never adjusting the volume? Thanks.

You cannot control the LG Ultrafine display's speakers with any keyboard sound related keys. I have turned them off in the LG 32UN880-B settings panel and now use paired Bluetooth headphones (or a Bluetooth speaker) that are responsive to keyboard sound controls.

Which LG monitor do you have? My LG 5K Ultrafine works using the keyboard keys for volume.
