Cleaning This:

A. Start Here: How to Clean your AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and EarPods - Apple Support

B. Use a Cloth:

Using a microfibre cloth, gently rub it off.

C. Don't Use an Spray:

If you were to use cleaning items(i.e. Windex), then may do bodily harm to your ears. So, if done, then it's time for a new pair.

The grey dots are actually holes for you to slide a lanyard so they can hang around your neck
