Cannot open shared notes

a friend shared a note with me & it says I am unable to open it. I have done some trouble shooting. Both our iCloud settings are correct.

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16

Invited users cannot access shared notes When I make a shared note in the Notes app, and I invite another user to edit, they are denied access. They are prompted with the message ”Note unavailable. The owner has stopped sharing or you do not have permission to open the file (note).”

Are the Notes that are shared with you in iCloud Folder? If not the Notes cannot be shared.

Please check your email accounts that store all your notes. They are synced to Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any other etc.
