airpods max refusing to connect

This week, my AirPods Max have decided to be junk. I am struggling to get them to connect to my Mac Mini 2018 (Ventura 13.0.1) and when they do, they keep disconnecting. I need these for work and it takes 10 business days to get service done where I live so taking them in for service is a last resort. I've done all the nonsense about rebooting them and resetting them but it's not helping. Is there anything else someone's done that has resolved a similar issue?

I can't even get the stupid things to show up on my phone.

Also, one side of my Pros is dead so there goes my backup. Apple, what has happened to you?

These are by far the best and worst headphones. I’d like to get the engineers who worked on these in a room and shoot paintballs at them. I have headphones that were a quarter the cost and produced in the decade I was born still work flawlessly. I too cannot connect them as they won’t show up on Bluetooth. For just 300 dollars I can send them in and get new ones. I have tried everything including using sim to remove headband. Nothing works. Apple needs to do better and fix these as there are swarms of people on Reddit with same issue. I won’t be rushing out to buy their new toys after how Apple has refused to take responsibility for the connectivity issues. I should have had them replaced when I was constantly resetting them back when it was under warranty. I ended my Apple developer subscription due to my frustration over the AirPod Max.

Finally got a diagnostic back. My 14-month-old Maxes are dead based on a firmware issue (so Apple-caused) and I was told to just buy a new pair. This is unacceptable and I think it's appropriate for this thread to continue with folks sharing their recommendations for a competitor products with comparable noice cancelling. That Apple is now bullying its loyal customers into replacing products this quickly is unbelievable and not a practice they should be borrowing from their competitors.
