Homepod Siri tries to run deleted shortcut instead of a scene

Hi,

I am experiencing exactly the same issue like described here: Siri on HomePod mini 16.2 always tries to… - Apple Community on iOS 16.4.

I had a shortcut "Good night", but deleted it, and now only use the goodnight scene. When using Siri on iPhone or Apple TV, everything works fine and it runs the scene. But both Homepods (Homepod 1st gen + Homepod mini), when I say "hey siri, good night", replies with: "Sorry, something went wrong. Shortcut says: Shortcut names "Good night" unable to find."

I tried to turn off all the iCloud sync of Shortcut and Siri on iPhone, turned it off, turned on again, waited 5 minutes and turned on the syncing. It didn't help. Also removing Homepods from the Home app and adding it again doesn't work.

Seriously, using Apple Home has been just one big frustration.

Hey there ikv701,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

It sounds like you've done a ton of really good troubleshooting to resolve this HomePod issue. A lot of the steps you've tried are ones we would have recommended to help get this resolved. We'd still like to share some information that may help, though. One thing we're not sure if you've tried is resetting your HomePod speaker to its factory settings. This will restore the HomePod to the same settings as if you just got it brand new from the box at which point you can set it back up again from scratch to see if that may help resolve this.

Here is how you can do that if you'd like to give it a shot: Reset HomePod or HomePod mini - Apple Support

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.

Hi @nathan430,

no, unfortunately resetting the Homepod doesn't solve the issue. I am running the latest software (iOS, tvOS and Homepod OS), but even after half a year still no change. It's really frustrating...

Another bug that is persisting over 2 years now is that Siri doesn't recognize my voice or any Home member voices on Homepod 1st gen and Homepod mini. Even though everyone has "recognize my voice" and "personal requests" turned on in the Home app. Recognizing voice works only on iPhones. :/
