HomePod Mini siri shortcuts not working

Hi! After update HomePod Mini to iOS 16 and later (currently 16.2) it is not executing any shortcuts created on iPhone 7 iOS 15.7.2. Every time when I ask to run any shortcuts (normally working via Siri in iPhone) HomePod Siri answer by a sentence: "I'm having a bit of trouble here. Please try again later."

Do you think that this function is no longer available because of iOS version differences?

Thanks a lot.

BranoB,

Thanks for following up. There have been updates to the new Home architecture with iOS 16, and based on the information below, what you're experiencing is normal as it relates to devices that are not able to update to iOS 16: Upgrade to the new Home architecture

"Before you upgrade

  • Update your iPhoneiPadMacApple TVHomePod, and Apple Watch to the latest software. Any device that is connected to an upgraded home and not running the latest software will lose access to the home until the device is updated. This includes people that you invite to control your home."

We hope this answers your question. Best wishes.

Hi,

HomePod doesn't have any problem to execute commands from HomeKit. Every smart device supported HomeKit natively such as lights, thermostat, outlets, etc. working without issue. Problem is that HomePod won't execute shortcuts from other apps. It is no more able to control shutters via BroadLink app, iRobot vacuum cleaner or Android TV controlled via IRCC commands. This 3rd party shortcuts commands sopped working after iOS16 on HomePod. However they are still working via iPhone.
