Order of iPhone photos on Windows PC

Hi! :)

I have a question concerning the order of downloaded photos on my Windows PC.

So, I realized, that as soon as I download photos from my iCloud to my Windows PC, the order is completely messed up due to the weird photo captions. Also, the date is updated to the import date, meaning I cannot sort them by the date they were taken. Is there any way to fix this without having to do it for every photo individually?

I really need a way to make space on my phone. Does anyone maybe have other tips?

Thanks in advance! :)

Best,

Lena

File dates are fragile and often modified when moving files around, but the "real" internal metadata EXIF dates should be intact.

So use that to sort the images in Windows. If Windows does not have that, option, then use some 3rd party app to copy the EXIF date to the file creation & modification dates or/and file names. On the Mac I use GraphicConverter or exiftool for that.

Typical **** from Apple.

You buy expensive products but cannot actually do what you want.

I have the same problem as you and just wanted to share my memories with family without the hassel.

I also noticed that Apple despite the wealth received from customers could not handle to assist or answer your question.

Its about time APPLE woke up to the fact that not everyone can only have APPLE products in both private and business life.
