Recovering icloud.com email password - NOT APPLE PASSWORD

There was another thread from a while back, but no answer was given. I have an icloud.com account that storage, etc., is tied to. However, I need to add my cloud.com address to my Outlook so I can get my addresses to show up in the Outlook contacts.

Any idea to know what the icloud.com address password is or able to recover/change it? I have tried using the icloud.com address that is the alias to my appleID. I have also tried my apple username and address. Neither worked. Yes, I used my applied password and neither worked.

Ok, it is the 2FA from your AppleID that causes all the grief of connecting your @icloud.com email to your Outlook. If you set and use an App-Specific Password from https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage it connects just fine and icloud contacts become available.

Hey tmassing,

An iCloud.com email address would also be an Apple ID. You should be able to login using your Apple ID password. For this reason, the steps to reset or change your Apple ID password would be the same to change an @iCloud.com email address password. Those steps can be found here: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If you're able to sign into your iCloud account to check your email at the iCloud.com website, then the issue may be specific to Outlook, in which case, we'd recommend checking with their support here: Outlook Support

Thanks!

Thank you, Jeff_W. The issue is specific to email config through Outlook. Adding an email account using the @icloud.com or your appleid email address will not recognize the same password as when you log in to icloud.com. It should be the same, but it is not as far as the acct setup is concerned. The only thing I can think could be the issue is that my appleid/icloud.com has 2FA.

Any way around it to allow the authentication?
