Vertical lines on my MacBook Pro 2018

Hi,

I worked on my MacBook Pro 2018 ("13, A1989), closed and after few minutes opened and display shows vertical lines as on picture below. I tried to run safe mode, reset memory etc. but nothing helped. I called support and they told me that screen has to be replaced.... for 800$ !!! Hi @apple.com did you investigate design issue on the tape? are You going to fix that? I'm looking forward someone from support will contact me and solve the issue.

You will either need to pay to have the laptop repaired, or only use the laptop while connected to an external display. Otherwise you will need to purchase/use another laptop.

You can also look into any local consumer protection laws to see if any apply to you (doubtful).
