Restore deleted text in Notes

i accidentally deleted the whole text in a note (i didn't delete the note, it's the whole text i deleted so the note disappeared because of no content any more). It must have happened yesterday and i only noticed the mistake today. Is there a way i can access an old backup from my notes? I don't have time machine activated, but i see that there are files in the "group.com.apple.notes" which are a few days old. I cannot open the files though... It would be super important to get these notes back. I still cannot believe that this happened. It's a note that i've had for years and kept on updating...
