iPad Home Screen keeps changing after iPad switch off, rearranging and including widgets

After updating IOS now my Home Screen keeps changing by itself. This is so annoying and horrible. Widgets keep showing on even if I delete them and my apps don’t show in the order I have organized. How can I ensure that my Home Screen stays the way I want it even if iPad turns off? It does not make any sense that if battery is off then when you turn it on you have to rearrange manually everything again. Why do widgets you don’t want and are repeated keep showing? How to disable this horrible function? Who had this stupid idea to enforce you to have things on your Home Screen you don’t want? Please tell me there is a solution for this!!!

I have exactly the same problem and I think it’s absolutely BS that Apple is lazy enough to rely on its ‘community’ to solve its own problems? Step up Apple, resolve issues you see here, don’t count on your customers to do so.

Perahps when lose your antitrust suit, you’ll invest more in customer care.

p.s. Contacted Apple customer care ( oxymoron?) and didn’t hear back

Hello Dima1005,

It definitely does not make sense that you would have to reorganize your applications every time you restart the device, and there is no setting that would cause something like that to happen.

If you've already confirmed that the software on the device is up to date, then you would want to contact Apple to report the issue.

I had the same problem. I ended up having to delete each widget and icon that I didn't want one at a time and restarting my ipad after each one. It's time consuming and a pain in the "you know what" but it worked. After I deleted the last one and restarted my ipad, then I arranged the remaining icons the way I wanted them to be on my home screen. I restarted the ipad again and when I turned it back on, everything was the way I arrange it and the widgets I didn't want remained gone. Hope this helps.
