FCP Update 10.6.6 Audio Effects are adding unwanted echo to my video file.

last night I was prompted to update my FCP library so I clicked continue. after the update I went in to edit a video file with me talking. I usually add a couple audio effects/enhancements to boost the quality of my voice. I noticed "Bass Enhancement" under EQ (in audio effects) was named to "Bass Enhancement 2". When I applied it as I normally do it adds this awful echo to my voice which it never did prior. Im not sure if this is a result of the update or how to fix this... I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my MacBook Pro, still no fix. Does anyone else have a similar issue?
