mail message background color option don't work
after contacting apple they confirm to me that it is a bug in mail 16.0 (3731.600.7), i have been using this option for years for my company email colored backgrounds
Does anyone have an idea how I can get a colored background in my emails in a different way

more apple users who noticed this bug the strange thing is that with pages app you can just adjust the paper color it's really a bug because the button to do this in mail app is still there and adjusts when you choose a color only in the palette it does not convert your choice to your stationery i am otherwise very happy with this app only as an artist i always used this function for my correspondence to my customers now i have to work with bourgeois boring white paper a colored letter is fortunately still possible
Just curious as to how you were sending emails with a colored background before. It hasn't been an option in Mail since at least High Sierra.
FWIW, you can set background colors in Mozilla Thunderbird.
Sorry, I have to eat my words. It does work in Monterey but not in Ventura. So you either have to wait to see if a future version of Ventura or later restores the function or as I suggested, use a different email client such as Thunderbird.
mail app macOS Ventura 13.4 (22F66) the button to enable a color as background does not work here, whichever color you select, your mail will remain white
macos monterey 12.6.5 runing on my old imac works mail app ok the color buton for mail baground works
What you are showing is the background color of text. Which does work in Ventura and earlier. Not the entire background of the email.
I have Monterey and Ventura installed. I can create the same screen shot you show but as soon as I click in the area you show in Yellow that area is not longer in color.
