Adding PNG breaks Final Cut Pro - black screen and failed export
Hi all,
So I'm adding in a PNG with a transparent background to a final cut pro project, and adding this specific one basically breaks final cut. It's not even the size of the screen and I can transform what the size should be and it still registers as a black screen. When I continue to play I can hear the audio, and can go to either side of the PNG, but not even making a copy, downloading the original again, even saving it as a JPEG, then removing the background through Adobe, and re-adding it back in doesn't work. It's also weird that my two other PNGs created at the same time, and that I use for a similar purpose work just fine, but this one does not.
Then when I exported (because I thought it was working for a brief moment) when it gets to that point in the video it just goes black with no audio whatsoever.
Any ideas why this is happening? I've cleared the render files, have enough space on my external hard drive, have a brand new 2023 MacBook Pro with 96 GB of Ram (yes I know that's excessive, but I'm transitioning to more editing work and my last machine wasn't keeping up), tried the trick where you scale your image to 101% instead of 100%, nothing has yielded a result. Would definitely appreciate some help.
Perhaps it has something to do with the transition over to this computer? I know Safari hasn't been working super effectively thinking I don't have enough space on my machine to load websites, but cleared that cache and that seems to have stopped that issue. But that's my only hypothesis, or that somehow the PNG got corrupted in a way the other two didn't, but I figured redownloading it would fix that problem and it didn't.
I've attached screenshots so you can see what I'm talking about as well. Thanks for anyone's insight.
