Freestyle Libre 3 app updated to 16.4.1 and will not work when I spoke with the company they said the app won’t support the sensor and I need to revert to the 16 version. Can you help me with that?

Whoever is the manufacturer of freestyle libra needs to stop stalling and update their app.

It is their responsibility to ensure compatibility.

The problem exists in the whole product line including Libre 1, Libre 2, Libre 3.

What happens is that the Near Field Communication (NFC) of the iPhone gets turned off by the Libre software if you are using any IOS past 16. The other troublesome side affect of this is that Apple Pay will no longer work by tapping your iPhone since it uses NFC to communicate to the cash register.

This MUST be fixed by the manufacturer, Abbott. Apple does not give you the ability to turn NFC on and off nor does it allow you to revert to earlier operating system releases.

One way to get around this and still use Libre without buying a new phone is to purchase a separate Libre Reader. It is available for the Libre 2 and Libre 3. This is not a good solution, but cheaper that a new iPhone.

I am considering switching to Dexcom G6 glucose monitor if Abbott doesn't get this fixed soon and issue an apology to the thousands of users it has impacted.

I got my libre 3 and my phone refuses to sense the sensor. Has anyone figured out the issue or how to get it to work? I’ve called Abbot Customer care and they are replacing my sensors however, wanting to get feedback in regards to anyone else still having issues.

You are the very first person with the same issue as me that has correctly written the question ! I was on the phone with Abbott today for over 2 hours today after my Mom’s new Freestyle Libre 2 reader is not sharing any data with her app on her iPhone 13 running on the latest iOS. I don’t have an answer even after the two hour call but was told the same thing “to downgrade our iOS for both patient and caretaker” this, since the LibreLinkUp app is also not receiving any data either on my iPhone (caretaker)…this must be addressed!

This happened to me I am a diabetic I’m using the freestyle libre three this happened to me about one year ago I totally got another phone it worked and you just need to get a new phone. If it fully doesn’t work at all my brother is a diabetic too, so yeah.
