Camera x1 Portrait still not working

Looking at this thread I’ve also tried every restart and reset imaginable.

why can’t I even select the x1 on portrait mode? It glitches and immediate defaults to x3

Also I have some wild settings error stating that “the camera in this device is not compatible with this interface”

How in the name of god is that possible. I’m not a master electrician nor an iPhone dismantlement master…….

Hi Samwise10,

One element to check is that you have good lighting conditions for the photos that you're attempting to take. Per Take Portrait mode photos with your iPhone camera:

"Note: On iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Night mode turns on when you take a Portrait mode photo in low-light situations with the wide (1x) lens. To learn more about Night mode, see Take Night mode photos."

Make sure that your camera is not triggering Night mode during those captures.

If this continues in all lighting environments, it may be necessary to have the hardware of your iPhone tested or inspected for service. Contact Apple Support to review options if that should be necessary.

Regards.
