Message App Frozen on Apple Watch

I cannot open or reply to messages received on watch only; phone is fine. App is frozen. I tried to force a reboot without success. Both iPhone and Apple watch otherwise work fine. Suggestions please.

The best place to start working out any issues you're experiencing with your device is to ensure that you're running the most current OS version. Are both your Apple Watch and iPhone updated? If not, this is the best place to start.

Update your Apple Watch - Apple Support


When you say you tried to force a reboot without success, do you mean you weren't able to force restart the watch or the process didn't help with the app issue you're having?


If you were successful in restarting the watch, did you also restart your iPhone as well? If not, it's a good idea to restart both devices to see if a reboot helps get the app working correctly again.

If none of the above options work, you can unpair and repair your Apple Watch and iPhone to see if setting it back up again is the solution.
