Not enough storage to download Xcode

I wanted to download Xcode on my MacBook Pro but no matter how much I delete, I don't have enough storage for the app. My MacBook has 120gb, less than 30gb of that includes all my files, applications, pictures etc, 12gb is under "Other" and a huge 50gb is under "System Data". I have around 28gb left on my device. What are some solutions that I could try out?

Thank you!

Your hard drive is not large enough. If your hardware is capable of having its hard drive upgraded then do it. If that’s not possible and you can’t free up more space with what you have consider purchasing a larger externally attached drive instead. At least 250GB - 500GB would be ideal - SSD drive. Use cloning software such as CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) to clone your existing drive over to the external drive and Reboot using the external drive. You should be able to download XCode thereafter.

Good luck
