My battery drains unusually fast, even when the phone was turned off or in idle state. The iOS update ver 16.4.1 (a) drains significant amount of battery percentage compared with the previous iOS version.
I am using iPhone 12 mini (brand new, 4months old), i am aware that this small phone have small battery capacity, but it is worse in this update.

I had no such issues, after installing iOS 16.4.1 (a) on my iPhone 12 mini.

To rule out a software issue, restore your device back to factory settings, using your computer:
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
Set it up manually at first, without using the latest backup. Then test your battery life again.
If it is back to normal, restore from the latest backup and test it again.

I did try to restart my phone right after the installation, i also did a force restart like your suggestion but the battery still depletes quite fast for small tasks like using Whatsapp, YT, IG, etc. I estimated 7-8% in just 15 minutes for IG yesterday.
I also did turn off things that may drain my battery such as Background App Refresh and other settings like locations, brightness, etc.
I believe it was not this bad before the 16.4.1.(a)
