Mac Mail - Can't Remove Flag Notification Number

Flagged Email shows (1) yet there is no email flagged and no email in the box when I click Flagged (box is empty). I just updated to Ventura but this Flagged (1) has been showing in prior versions as well. I cannot get rid of this (1). Anyone know how?

Hello JacqueDD,

If the Flagged folder has a number stuck on it, you can try quitting and re-opening the Mail application to see if that clears it.

Quit apps on Mac

If the number is still stuck on the folder, you can try removing and re-adding the email account in the Mail application.

1. In the Mail app on your Mac, choose Mail > Settings, then click Accounts.
2. Select an account, then click the Remove button .

Log out of or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac

In Mail, choose Mail > Add Account, select an account type, then enter your account information. Make sure the Mail checkbox is selected for the account.

Cheers!
