Homepod not connecting to internet anymore, can't reset it

I have a new iphone and can't Spotify to play from the homepod anymore. Tried updating phone, resetting, and finally removing the device to reinstall, but now the Pod says it can't access the internet so I can't re-add the device, which means I also can't reset it. When i hold the Pod button down it eventually says it can't connect to the internet. This device is less than 3 years old and it's very frustrating to be having this issue.
