iPhone Calendar problem

I have an iPhone SE 1:st gen and the latest iOS 15.7.5 and have had it for about 5 years.

I have recently become aware of that calendar notations, in the calendar that comes with the IOS, older than about 3 months are gone, with an exception. Only I have access to my phone and I haven’t deleted anything.

The exception is that regular notations/reminders that pop up every second and every fourth week are not gone.

The iCloud backup is ok, nothing is missing there.

Questions

  1. What could this be caused by?
  2. Is it possible to restore the iPhone Calendar from the iCloud backup?

Thank you for answering.

When you buy an iphone there is a calendar app included from the beginning. I don’t know if it is considered a part of iOS or not. That’s the calendar I am speaking about. I didn’t mention anything about an Apple calendar.

It has a hotmail account linked to it for some reason, I’m not an expert on iphones or ios.

As I mentioned I have had this iphone for years and I am sure I would have noticed missing historic calendar entries during these years. Sometimes I go back in the calendar to see what and when I did something. A few days ago I noticed the calendar was almost empty from about 3 months back and further back. That worried me a bit. I don’t understand why this has happened.

Luckily the iCloud backup contained all missing calendar entries.

But I would prefer to have access to all historic entries in my phone. So if anyone could solve this mystery I would be most grateful.

iPhone Calendar? Apple Calendar? There is no such thing.

Please check which is your Default email Account for the Calendar on your device? Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar

All the devices sync with an email client server which hosts your calendar. If you have a Calendar on iCloud that will not sync with Google Calendar. Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar [Choose what you want]. What you add (Event) on iPhone Calendar is synced with default calendar unless you have chosen a specific calendar at the time of event creation.

To which email account are the calendar events synced with your iPhone? This is not clear in your post
