Hi, Mac OScatalina version 10.15.7, is it possible to upgrade

Can I upgrade MacOS version 10.15.7 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)?

Because you've stated Catalina build version, seemed apparent

on my reply, that you'd already arrived there. ~ If not, there's an

Apple Support article which includes downloadable installer links.

Earlier reply shows much hardware upgrades and replacements

that can and would make an older Mac run better. That said, the

last upgrade system for your build model year is Catalina 10.15.7.

The instructions may appear sketchy. Yet, links to Installers

can be used with Safari, for full effect; including Download.

Includes bootable installers + special instructions; if needed.

[Upgrade part number stated 'guaranteed' by OWC, is correct.

Results found otherwise, similar but not exact? ~May not work.

Details = critical. Found vague source of PC chips? Won't do.]

New AFPS partitions and mapping, after upgrade to Catalina

offer new ideas for security and challenges to previous ones.

..mashiur96..

While there are a few good update/upgrades available to further

the hardware aspects of support for Catalina macOS 10.15.7 to

allow better storage (SSD) and memory (RAM) those can help.

But the rest of the hardware is living on borrowed time.

I have one of these; same as yours. As mine has a few

upgrades, and runs Mojave macOS 10.14.6; with blade

SSD. Not easy to locate; "blade" may have upgrade form.

I found this MB/Pro second hand; after upgrade to 16GB

RAM, looked further into an SSD upgrade too. Most parts

you'd need can be acquired through OWC online. Outside

of north America, they have partners. See toll-free ph #'s.

Upgrades Guaranteed to work with your Mac by OWC

This company has quality memory chip upgrades as well

internal storage drives; old-style rotational, also solid state.

However this may be OK for a time, until logic boards &/or

CPU/GPU failures due to old age. ~ Batteries are available,

if not from Apple, from OWC for awhile. A better generic?
