I have tried to remove a person from a group text and I cannot swipe the person

I am trying to swipe left to remove someone from a group text and it only goes to contact info

How do I remove a person (who is requesting to be remove) from a group text- more than 4 people 19 I clicked message- gray arrow, list of people dropped down, clicked and his contact info appreared- if I delete , his normal contact info on my phone will be gone -and if I click block that is just blocking him from texting me I think. I tried to swipe left on his name , it will not swipe. Just want to remove him from the group text?

Are the messages in the thread blue? Or green? If they are green, that means that not everyone in the thread is using iMessage. Unless everyone is using iMessage, you can't delete people. You will need to stop that thread and create a new one without that person.
