Shared contact won’t open in messages

Someone shared a contact with me in iMessages- it won’t open. Any idea what to do?

Can’t send messages on iPad to people on my contacts For the pat few days, I’ve not been able to have text messages go thru to people in my contacts list. Today I got a message that the recipient is not in iMessages. This is a relatively new iPad 9th generation. I didn’t have issues with sending messages on this iPad when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I’ve gone into settings and turned iMessages off and back on, but still have same problem. sometimes get error saying that I’m not using same Apple ID. I do have 2 apple ids but am using the same one across all my devices. suggestions other than to wipe and start over?

If you haven't already, we recommend trying a restart of your iPhone. This is a simple step that can sometimes resolve issues like the one you've described with opening a shared contact: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
