How to turn off hotspot timeout

Hi,

How do you turn off the 90 second timeout setting for hotspot without changing the settings so the phone will never auto lock? This is driving me crazy and seems to be something else (on top of the coutless other things) apple falls short of android with.

Any help would be appreciated,

thank you!

Thank you for the reply,

The issue isnt with the carrier or the initial connection to the hotspot - I can connect and works perfectly fine for a certain amount of time which I have found to be 90s looking at various apple replies and websites. My issue is that I use a laptop for work and as I am out an about I rely on a data connectin via my iPhone however after 90s of me not using the laptop it automatically disconnects due to inactivity which I would then need to turn off and back on the 'Maximise compatibility' button for my laptop to see the connection and then press reconnect for it to reinstate the connection. As you can imagine this is quite fustrating to be doing this every time I come back to my laptop to input data.

  • Try forgetting the WiFi Hotspot and connect again.
  • Check if your iPhone has strong cellular signal
  • Also find out if the data plan on your SIM is not exhausted

The Hotspot is a Carrier Specific feature. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider), the agency that issued the SIM / eSIM to you.

See the Pic below the Hotspot is made available based on the Mobile Data selected and the feature that is enabled by the Carrier

Hotspot is carrier specific feature --> Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider) The agency who issued the SIM to you --> If Personal Hotspot is not working on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi
