Can't Use Apple Pay or Wallet on MacBook Pro?

I’m having difficulty accessing the Wallet & Apple Pay settings pane on my MacBook Pro (2018). My device has an Apple T2 Security Chip, so I’m unsure what the limitation is. How can I fix it?

The specific error message is, in full, “You can’t open the ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’ settings pane because it is not available to you at this time.”

The support article I linked to above, has your answer.

>> Use Wallet & Apple Pay on Mac

If your Mac or Magic Keyboard has Touch ID, you can use it to make payments on websites that support Apple Pay. To set up Apple Pay on your Mac, you need to add at least one credit card, debit card, prepaid card, store card, or Apple Card to Wallet. If you already have a debit or credit card associated with the iTunes Store or App Store, just verify your card’s security code to add the card to Wallet.

To learn more about Apple Card, see the Apple Card website and the Apple Card User Guide.

You can view a list of recent transactions for each card you add to Wallet. (Not available for all cards.) <<

You’ll need to purchase a keyboard, if available, that supports Touch ID.

Thank you for your response, Jeff Donald. My MacBook Pro’s MacOS is current (Ventura 13.3.1), and the login password is enabled.

I still see the same error message screenshotted by FelixGarcia and mentioned in the original post. We cannot follow the steps you referenced in the support article because we encounter the error message instead.

Wow so you’re using a MacBook which should work, I wonder if this is a software issue, I spoke with Apple Support they were aware of this issue in the prior version of macOS but not Ventura. I did all kinds of trouble shooting with them and nothing, even reinstalling the system software. I really don’t want to do a complete reinstall for this, it’s more of an annoyance than anything else. What’s funny is Wallet & Apple Pay shows up in my notifications pane.
