Why can I only authorize 5 devices? Does Apple really think I own less than 5 devices? Also why can I only deauthorize devices once a year? Because I authed my work computer I can no no longer auth my personal Studio. This is stupid.

See Authorization vs. association - Apple Community. There is a limit of five computers. You can have up to ten associated computers and iOS devices. Other devices such as Apple TV and HomePod are not limited.
