Supported Matter 'third-party border routers' for HomeKit?

Hey everyone,

I went to upgrade my Home to Matter today only to find that the iPad is no longer supported as a Hub. I don't have any need for the main functions of either Homepod or Apple TV, but the app says that a "supported third-party border router" is another option. I've tried Googling this without any luck – does anyone know if any third-party routers actually exist?

Thanks!

No. that does not answer my question. Absent an Apple TV or HomePod, where can I find a list of supported "third party border routers"?

Hi Jamie,

From what you've shared it sounds like you're attempting to set up a home hub. If this is correct, you can find all steps for this process and supported devices here: Set up your HomePod, HomePod mini, Apple TV, or iPad as a home hub - Apple Support

If this doesn't answer your questions or resolve your issue please share additional information about what you're looking to set up. This can help facilitate replies from the community.

Regards.
