Blocked emails

This does not make sense to me. You block a sender and then get an email from that sender with the 🚫 symbol in the header. So, the Mac software knows that it is blocked but still inserts it into the Inbox. Sounds like a bug in the software. Or am I missing something?

Unfortunately the blocked emails do come from the exact same email address. Obviously there is no solution to this problem - something we have to live with I guess. Many thanks for the suggestions re apps. I will check them out.

My guess is that they are all different email addresses that are being used to send to you, so you really can’t block them.

You should consider getting an email blocking app; there are many in the app store. I use nomorobo, which also blocks spam phone calls. But there are other good ones also. The good ones are not free.

I am deleting them all day long. The question is, how are they showing up on my inbox when blocked? Basically I have to follow the same procedure with these emails as I did before I began to block them - deleting. What then is the point with blocking them?

I don’t understand. What’s being said doesn’t make any sense. If you block the email and you still get emails WITH the block symbol then it HAS to still be the email you blocked not another new separate one. It doesn’t make sense that it works that way. It needs to be fixed. Even if you don’t want to delete them hold it somewhere not in my inbox 99% of my junk mail is this crap. I am talking about mail on the iPhone btw figured it would be the same for Mac. It clearly shows that I already blocked it but it’s still being sent to me.

If you block an email you will not longer receive email from that address. But there’s no point in blocking spam messages, because spammers never reuse an email address. Blocking is to block specific individuals who you don’t want to receive emails from.

You can’t block senders, you can only block email addresses. So the same sender can use different email addresses to send to you.

That means they were blocked. Just delete them.
