Emergency Test Alerts

I had those government and weather test alerts turned off but at 4am I got one. Why did this occur? Is this an iOS issue, Verizon issue, or intrusive government issue?

The US state of Florida transmitted a government alert at 04:45 local time, if that’s where you’re located. What was intended to be a test alert was mistakenly transmitted as a full alert, per reports. Check local news for details.

These alerts can come from several different agencies, including local, state and federal.

They can be disabled.
