Message option missing from Share menu

OK, so I can't share with messages. If I edit the extensions, Messages is listed (it's of course one of the ones you can't turn off). But it doesn't show if I go to select a song and share it. Doesn't show for screenshots either. Here is what I see. I have dug around, and haven't seen anything about this. This is my work laptop, so I can't use recovery mode. I am an admin account. Any ideas?

I have been having this same problem with an M1 MacBook Pro 14" and work just upgraded me to an M2 MacBook Pro 16" and it still has the problem. Best I can find is that it is a policy from Mobile Device Management but I'll have to dig deeper on this because I am the only person having this problem.

Sounds like you've done everything right. I might suggest to boot into safe mode which performs system diagnostics and repairs things it finds wrong. It's possible this could be repaired too. When I go to the System Settings for Extensions under Privacy and Security, I see Messages. But it isn't selectable. Can't add or remove it. It's just there in the Sharing option.
