why wont apple tv play

i purchased apple tv + and when i search the show i want to see instead of a play button it shows 'try for free' when I click on that it says I already have a subscription- yet I cant watch anything. Same thing is happening to my husband. First it was his account which I should be able to watch but his wouldnt work so I tried a new subscription under my apple id and it still wont work. Its not the internet connection and it has been an hour... was in the middle of the Tetris movie which is so good! and had to give up the tv so tried from the phone and now tv wont work either. Not sure whats up with Apple but this sucks!
