I can't access trackpad settings !

Hey guys,

I erase and reset my MacBook Air 13" 2015 today and I can't understand why but I can't access my mac's trackpad settings. When I open it it just says it's looking for the bluetooth trackpad but I don't have it and the trackpad settings that should appear do not appear. I've already created a new user and the problem still persists. In the "plist" settings I don't have the files in relation to the trackpad, so I can't even delete that and I don't know if I don't need those files. Restart. Almost everything !

I have macOS Monterey Version 12.6.5 (21G531).

I send an image of how the trackpad settings appear to me. P.s: the language is in portuguese, sorry.

If anyone can help me I would be grateful.

Yes, the trackpad works pretty fine. I just want to change the settings to instead of actually clicking on the trackpad to do some action, I wanted to just tap. And the trackpad settings don't show up for me. Incredible.

Try an SMC Reset and a PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM Reset for at least three chimes). After the PRAM Reset make sure to select the default startup disk in the Startup Disk System Preferences.

I wish I would have paid more attention when I've seen this happen before.

Many times later in the day (perhaps after another reboot) everything may be fine. I've never really paid attention to how quickly it resolved itself.

Does the built-in Trackpad work? If not, then it means you have a hardware issue with the laptop which will need to be repaired.

I've seen this happen once in a while on several of our organization's Macs and I don't know why it occurs. Later on the setting will likely be available.
