If you want to delete the Mail app from your device, you can.

Notice there are no footnotes on the Mail app in the above link so you should not run into any difficulties or issues, aside from of course, not being able to get your email from that device. All emails will remain in the cloud.

The “consequences” of deleting any App from your iPad (or iPhone) is deletion of any associated locally stored data. App deletion (and associated data) from one device will not directly affect your other devices.


For email, assuming that you are using an IMAP mailbox, all of your saved email remains on the email provider’s mail server - until such time as you intentionally delete the mail message(s) from the account.
