Left Shift key behaving as both "Shift" and "Return/Enter" when pressed. How do I fix this?

Hello, I have been having this problem recently with my left shift key. It still functions as a shift key but is now also functioning as an enter key whenever I press it. My right shift key still works normally.

I have tried restarting my PRAM, but it has yet to work. I have also tried remapping my left shift to my right shift using "Karabiner-Elements" Version 14. However, I can't seem to remap any of my keys. Version 13 of the app says that my keyboard and mouse driver is outdated. However, I'm not sure how to fix that problem or if it would help my situation.

My Mac is an Intel, V12 Monterey. I find it very hard to type with my faulty left shift key. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Thank you very much!

If both an SMC and NVRAM reset and booting into Safe Mode and a test using a newly-created login do not resolve this, then it would appear your MacBook Pro keyboard has a hardware issue and will need a repair. Contact Apple Support and discuss your options and alternatives.
