notifications not showing in apple watch 9.1 since ios 16.1 update

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We want to make sure we fully understand what's happening. Are you saying that the notifications are appearing on the Apple Watch, but the red dot it missing to indicate a new notification?

If that's the case, work through the steps below to help resolve this:

1. Restart your Apple Watch: Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support
2. Restart your paired iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
3. unpair / and pair your Apple Watch and iPhone again: Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support
