Strange new issue with Siri

I was trying to set an appointment using Siri on my iPhone 14+. So I said, "Set an appointment with Dr. blank for 1 PM on Thursday."

For some reason, Siri then asked me, "What do you want to call it?" when usually it just calls it "Appointment." It gave me a place where I could enter a name so I just entered "Checkup."

Next, Siri strangely said,"who would you like to invite? When I said "no one" it again repeated the question, saying "I didn't get that. Could you try again?" Obviously it DID "get that" since it transcribed the words "no one" accurately.

I tried multiple times, and got the same response each time. I tried setting the appointment on my older iPad and it worked as expected.

What is going on here?

Thank you for reaching out Timothy Arends1,

It sounds like you're having some trouble with using Siri to set an appointment. If you have not already, restart your iPhone, then see if you are able to interact with Siri, as you would normally. You'll also want to ensure iOS is updated, following Update iOS on iPhone.

If you continue to have issues using Siri, you'll want to follow the additional steps linked below.

If "Hey Siri" isn't working on your iPhone

Hope that helps.

Take care.
