Missing contacts

Last Wednesday at noon all my contacts were in my phone at 5?pm I had missing contacts. I can locate the contacts in my text message app but not in my phone app. Also I can’t add the text message co tact Info to my phone app. I have powered off my phone , resynched my phone with icloud, turned off lists on my phone app. I also did the latest update. I have been an apple user forever, but I’m seriously considering using something else because this is t the first time it has happened.

I have exactly the same issue since latest iOS update. Tried all the same suggestions and none work to restore missing contacts. The fix above does not work as it only shows restore dates after the iOS update after they went missing. Disastrous for business. Apple you need to escalate a solution

Thanks for connecting with us here in Apple Support Communities. Are you using iCloud contacts? If so, you can try restoring them back to your device. Please follow the steps in this article as it may help to resolve the issue you're facing: If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support

Restore your contacts or bookmarks from an earlier version

1. Sign in to iCloud.com.

2. Scroll down to the bottom of the window, then select Data Recovery.

3. Select Restore Contacts or Restore Bookmarks.

4. Select Restore next to the date before you deleted the content.

5. Select Restore again to confirm. After the restore completes, you get a notification on iCloud.com and an email at the address on file with your Apple ID.
